4 Hearty (Yet Healthy) Winter Comfort Food Recipes

As the browning leaves, cold weather and dark evenings signal autumn/winter time, it’s time to salvage the woolly jumper from the depths of your wardrobe and snuggle down in front of the fire with some hearty and warming comfort food. Although hearty and filling, comfort food doesn’t have to be unhealthy.
Recent UK dietary and nutrition surveys estimate that as a nation we’re eating too much saturated fat. Eating too much saturated fat can increase cholesterol levels in the blood, which may increase the risk of heart disease.
How to reduce your saturated fat intake:
Rapeseed oil is lower in saturated fat than other commonly used cooking oils. It’s high in unsaturated fats, particularly mono-unsaturated fats. Replacing saturated fats with some unsaturated fats such as rapeseed oil, as part of a healthy, balanced diet has been shown to reduce cholesterol levels in the blood and help lower the risk of heart disease.
